Morning Carpool and Start of School Day

A reminder that morning carpool begins at 7:15 a.m. All students must be present for morning assembly, which begins promptly at 7:40 a.m. To give everyone time to acclimate to the beginning of the school year and carpool, we are not counting tardies in student attendance records, however, beginning Monday, August 26, tardies will count.

When in line for morning and afternoon carpool, please do not block our neighbors' driveways. Thank you!

5th and 6th Grade Band Instrument Demo Night - August 28

All 5th and 6th graders are invited to Band Instrument Demo Night on Wednesday, August 28 at 5:30 p.m. in the St. Joseph Hall Commons. This will be a great chance for our new Band Director, Mr. Ben Buller, to meet everyone, give you information about our band program, and most importantly, for our students to try out some instruments. Guests from the Catholic High School and St. Joseph's Academy Band program will be there to demonstrate the sounds of instruments and help out your kids while they give them a try.

Please park in the church lot and enter through the gate on the south side of campus.

Note that if you are a 6th grader who was in Mrs. McGregor's beginning band last year and would like to stay on the same instrument, you do not need to attend unless you want to.

If you have any questions, please email Mr. Buller at bullerb@stmbr.org.

Reporting Absences and Tardies

When your child will be absent or tardy, email both attendance@stmbr.org and your child's homeroom teacher. Please provide the following: student name, grade, teacher, and reason for absenteeism or tardiness. This email may come any time prior to 7:30 a.m. Students arriving at school after 7:40 a.m. must report to the office for a tardy slip. For safety reasons, students must be accompanied by a parent or guardian when arriving late. After receiving a tardy slip, the student then reports to the homeroom teacher. If a child is tardy on a Mass day, he or she will wait in the office until Mass is over.

Nurse's Notes

BEAT THE HEAT! Here are some tips to prevent heat related illness:

IMMUNIZATION RECORDS NEEDED: If Nurse Rochelle has contacted you by email or phone and asked to turn in an updated immunization record for your student(s), please send it as soon as possible. These records must be on file for every student at the beginning of August. If you have not been contacted then you can assume that the record we have on file for your student is up to date.

PRESCHOOL PARENTS: Immunization records for PK may expire throughout the school year. You will be notified when your child’s record is nearing expiration so that you can make an appointment with your doctor. If you go to an appointment and receive vaccinations, please obtain an updated immunization record and send a copy to school. Immunization records can be copied and sent to school in an envelope to Nurse Rochelle’s attention, scanned and emailed to rochelle@stmbr.org (photos do not print well), faxed to (225) 275-0376, or dropped off at the front office.
